Our Story

Building a Brighter Future for the Youth of Cannon Falls

Every young person deserves a place where they feel safe, welcomed, and inspired—a place where they can build friendships, discover new interests, and simply enjoy being a kid.

The Cannon Falls Youth Center Initiative was created with that vision in mind.

Our goal is to establish a welcoming, all-inclusive youth center where children and teens can gather in a positive environment that encourages learning, creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. This will be more than just a place to spend time after school—it will be a community hub where young people can develop confidence, build meaningful relationships, and explore new opportunities.

The center will offer a wide variety of activities designed to appeal to many different interests. From modern and retro video games to board games, puzzles, comic books, and group activities, there will be something for everyone. More importantly, these activities will provide opportunities for collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and lasting friendships.

Technology will also play an important role. Youth will have access to computers and hands-on learning experiences that help build digital literacy, introduce new skills, and spark curiosity about future careers in technology and other fields. Whether it's learning basic computer skills, exploring digital creativity, or working together on projects, the goal is to make learning engaging and accessible.

The vision extends beyond daily activities. Planned supervised events—including LAN parties, gaming tournaments, themed activity nights, workshops, and community events—will create opportunities for youth to connect, work as a team, and make lifelong memories in a safe, structured environment.

At its heart, the Cannon Falls Youth Center is about creating a place where every young person feels they belong. It's about giving our community a positive space that encourages respect, inclusion, learning, and growth while providing families with confidence that their children are spending time in a safe environment.

This initiative is still in its early stages, but the mission is clear: to build a place where the youth of Cannon Falls can connect, grow, and thrive together.

The Cannon Falls Youth Center exists to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where young people can connect, learn, grow, and thrive. Through technology, recreation, education, and community engagement, we strive to empower youth with the skills, confidence, and relationships they need to reach their full potential.
